Lead / Senior / Managing Writer

Key to our expansion is the position of Managing Writer. We are actively recruiting an accomplished, entrepreneurial-minded marketing communications writer who can join our team and participate in our vision for the industry. This position is full-time, based in our San Francisco office, and requires a professional with significant experience in every facet of content development and copywriting for technology companies.

As a Managing Writer, approximately 75% of your time will be spent writing and developing marketing content such as white papers, brochures, case studies, and web content for your clients. Another 15% of your time will be spent managing project deliverables, schedules, and teams and reporting on project status. The remaining 10% of your time will be dedicated to day-to-day client account management and relationship building, including pulling new projects through your clients to keep your project calendar full. Minimal travel, both local and national, may be required.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- Copywriting for a broad range of materials, such as brochures, white papers, product briefs, newsletters, articles, case studies, web content, multimedia/video, blog content, etc.
- Managing relationships with existing clients to achieve maximum revenue opportunity
- Scoping project work, identifying deliverables and project teams
- Managing multiple writing projects simultaneously, projecting and meeting deadlines
- Managing internal and external writers as required and reviewing their work
- Managing 3rd party partners for graphic design, production, programming, or other project fulfillment
Required background/skills:
- 3+ years in a marketing communications role in a technology company, preferably as a marcom manager/director or senior marketing writer responsible for supporting a large constituency of internal clients
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and comfortable with Adobe Acrobat
- Skilled editing and proofreading skills
Desired skills:
- Experience in a small, start-up environment
